UK Status Resident. Common Montgomeryshire Status A rare species with only one recent record coming from Pontrobert in 2011 (pics below). Probably overlooked due to its secretive life style. Wingspan : M & F, 32-44mm. Confusion species Hornet Moth. |

time (Montgomeryshire)  Habitat Can be found in any habitat where the foodplant grows. Foodplant The lower trunk and upper roots of willows, sallows and poplars. Lifestage data Overwinters probably twice as a larva. |
