Habitat

Mainly in woodland, scrub, heathland, bogs, hedgerows and gardens.

Foodplant

Downy birch and silver birch.

Lifestage data

Overwinters as a cocoon in a folded leaf, often found on birch seedlings. Larva June-July and August-September.
