A fairly uncommon species, but it has been recorded from most parts of the county.

Wingspan :  M & F, 28-33mm.

Habitat

Mainly found in open woodland and scrubby heathland, but also found in gardens.

Foodplant

Little is known about its foodplant in the wild, although in captivity it is known to eat dandelion, knot grass and sallow.

Lifestage data

Overwinters as a larva. Larva August-May. Pupates in the plant debris.
