A local and scarcely recorded species. Last seen in Port Crugnant in the west of the county in 1991. Due to its moorland habitat this species is rarely recorded but will be a much more common than the records suggest.

Wingspan :  M & F, 30-38mm.

Heather, bilberry and sallows.

Lifestage data

Overwinters as an egg attached to the foodplant. Larva mid April-late May. Pupates beneath the soil.
