Montgomeryshire Status

Rarely recorded in the county, but a healthy breeding population does exist at Llanymynech Rocks in the northeast corner of Montgomeryshire. It has also been recorded at one site in the west of the county.

Wingspan :  M & F, 12-14mm.

Lead-coloured Pug and Slender Pug.

Most places where the native foodplant occurs.

Foodplant

The flowers and buds of traveller's joy and other species of cultivated clematis.

Lifestage data

Overwinters as a pupa in a cocoon lying on the ground. Larva July-August.
