A fairly common species, found throughout the county.

Wingspan :  M & F, 47-56mm.

None.
Flight time (Montgomeryshire)

Habitat

Mostly open habitats including commons, sand-dunes, golf courses and shingle beaches.

Foodplant

Mainly bedstraws but also recorded on willowherb & purple-loosestrife.

Lifestage data

Overwinters as a pupa in a flimsy cocoon formed on the ground in the leaf litter. Larva late June-early September.
