A fairly uncommon species, but it has been recorded from much of the county.

Wingspan :  M & F, 34-40mm.

Habitat

Most areas where the foodplant is found.

Foodplant

Blackthorn, hawthorn, crab apple, fruit trees and wild roses.

Lifestage data

Overwinters as an egg laid in small batches on twigs of the foodplant. Larva late April-mid July. Pupates in a cocoon formed in the leaf litter or just under the soil.
