Montgomeryshire Status

Resident. A very local  (but can be a fairly common species where found), recorded only from six sites, all in the eastern side of the county. Last recorded from Llanfyllin.

Wingspan :  M & F, 15-20mm.

Habitat

Woodland, hedgerows, scrub and gardens.

Foodplant

Hawthorn, blackthorn, apple, plum and pear.

Lifestage data

Overwinters as a small larva. Larva August-June. Pupates attached to a twig in a cocoon.
