Habitat

Broadleaved woodland.

Foodplant

Woody plants such as bramble, honeysuckle, birch, sallow and hazel. It has also been found on dock.

Lifestage data

Overwinters as a part grown larva in the leaf litter. Larva August-May, feeding at night. Pupates in a cocoon on or just under the soil.
