Wingspan :  M & F, 34-42mm.

Confusion species

Powered Quaker, Northern Drab, Lead-coloured Drab and Twin-spotted Quaker.
Flight time (Montgomeryshire)

Habitat

Mostly in woodland, but also found in gardens and other habitats with trees or shrubs.

Foodplant

A wide range of broadleaf trees.

Lifestage data

Overwinters as a pupa in an underground cocoon. Larva April-June, living at first in developing buds then in spun shoots or leaves.
