Wingspan :  M & F, 35-42mm.

Devonshire Wainscot, L-album Wainscot, Obscure Wainscot.

Habitat

Mostly found in fens and marshes, but also on various types of grassland and gardens.

Foodplant

Various grasses.

Lifestage data

Overwinters as a fully grown larva in an underground cocoon, in which it pupates in the spring. Larva July-September, feeding at night.
