Habitat

Mostly broadleaf woodland, also found on scrubby downland, heathland and moorland.

Broadleaf trees.

Lifestage data

Overwinters as an egg which is laid on the twigs of the foodplant. Larva April-June. Pupates in an underground cocoon.
