Migrant. Can be recorded in any month of the year, but most likely in the summer months.

Montgomeryshire Status

First recorded in 2015 at Newtown in the east of the county.

Wingspan :   M & F, 34-42mm.

Confusion species

Eastern Bordered Straw.		 Flight time (Montgomeryshire)

Habitat

Mostly coastal, but can occur inland.

Foodplant

Rest harrow, ploughman's-spikenard, scentless mayweed, and sticky groundsel.

Lifestage data

Larva can occur in some years, but a late generation is unlikely to survive the winter in the UK.		 map
