Resident. Widespread except East Anglia and South Wales.

Montgomeryshire Status

Mainly found in the western half of the county, especially in the north.

Wingspan :   M & F, 8-11mm.

Confusion species

A fairly recognisable species.
Flight time & Voltinity (Univoltine)

Habitat

A woodland and high moorland species.

Foodplant

Unknown, but is thought to feed on bilberry.

Lifestage data

Leaf miner. (Mines of some species are similar, care is required with identification).
