Resident. Locally common throughout the British
Isles as far north as southern Scotland.
Montgomeryshire Status
First recorded in 2010 at Llanfyllin in the north of the county. Only
the thirteenth record for north Wales.

M & F, 7-9mm.
Confusion species
L. wailesella and L. spartifoliella.

time & Voltinity
(Bivoltine.)
Habitat
Mainly an urban species.
Foodplant
Laburnum, dyer's greenweed and garden lupin.
Lifestage data
Leaf miner. Eggs laid on underside of leaf. Larva first mines a brown
blotch, then an irregular short gallery. Pupates in a fragile cocoon on
the underside of a leaf of the foodplant. |
