Resident. A local species in the southern half of Britain, found in ancient woodland containing lime.

Montgomeryshire Status

Discovered in the north of the county at Breidden Hill in 2016 - only the 6th record for north Wales.

Wingspan :   M & F 6-8mm.

Confusion species

A fairly distinctive species.
Flight time & Voltinity (Univoltine)

Ancient woodland and rides containing the foodplant.

Small-leaved and common lime

Lifestage data

Leaf miner. Eggs laid on underside of leaf. Larva forms irregular mine then a small blotch. Pupates in the leaf litter.
