Wherever the foodplant is found.

Alder.

Lifestage data

Leaf miner. Eggs laid on upperside of leaf. Larva first mines an irregular gallery which develops into a blotch, finally leaves the blotch, rolls the leaf longitudinally and feeds within. Pupates in a cocoon spun under the leaf.
