Wingspan :   M & F, 7-9mm.

Confusion species

Many species of Phyllonorycter are extremely similar, great care should be given when separating these species. It is often impossible to separate the adults of some species.

Wherever the foodplant is found.

Foodplant

Oak.

Lifestage data

Leaf miner. Eggs laid on underside of leaf. Larva forms an oval elongate or irregular gallery which can be between 14 to 22mm long. Pupates in a strong, white cocoon within the mine.
