Resident. Locally very common in Wales, northern England and Scotland.

Montgomeryshire Status

First recorded in 2011 in the north of the county. This is a moorland species so may well be overlooked.

Wingspan :   M & F, 7-8mm.

Confusion species

Other Phyllonorycter species, care should be taken.

Moorland.

Foodplant

Cow-berry.

Lifestage data

Leaf miner. Eggs laid on underside of leaves. Larva mines the complete leaf, drawing the edges of the leaf downwards. Pupates within the mine.
