Resident. Widespread and common in England and Wales as far north as Cheshire.

A single old record taken from the south of the county at Llwynygog in 1990.

Care should be taken, very similar to other species of Phyllocnistis.

Leaf miner. Eggs laid on either side of leaf. Larva forms a long
irregular gallery. Pupates in a silken cocoon at the end of the mine. |
