UK Status Resident. Widespread and common in England and Wales as far north as Cheshire. Montgomeryshire Status A single old record taken from the south of the county at Llwynygog in 1990. Wingspan : M & F, 7-8mm. Confusion species Care should be taken, very similar to other species of Phyllocnistis. |

(Bivoltine)  Habitat Open country, woodlands and gardens. Foodplant Poplar spp. Lifestage data Leaf miner. Eggs laid on either side of leaf. Larva forms a long irregular gallery. Pupates in a silken cocoon at the end of the mine. |
