Resident. A local species found throughout much of Britain. Not discovered in UK until 1982 in London.

Montgomeryshire Status

Recorded in Newtown in 2012, this was only the fourth record for north Wales.

Wingspan :   M & F 8-10mm.

Confusion species

Phyllonorycter trifasciella and Cameraria ohridella.
Flight time & Voltinity (Univoltine)

Habitat

Gardens.

Foodplant

Juniper and cypress cultivars.

Lifestage data

Leaf miner. Eggs laid on leaf . Larva mines leaf and shoot which becomes discoloured. Pupates in a silky cocoon covered with particles, beneath the bark of the foodplant or crevice.
