UK Status Resident. Widespread and very common throughout the British Isles. Montgomeryshire Status Quite common where recorded, but generally overlooked throughout the county. Wingspan : M & F, 15-20mm. Confusion species Y. sylvella and some forms of Y. parenthesella. |

(Univoltine)  Habitat Mainly where oak is found. Foodplant Oak. Lifestage data Spinning. Eggs laid on a twig of the foodplant. Larva feeds from a slight spinning. Pupates in a pale brown cocoon under a leaf, in a crevice or against the bark. |
