Resident. Widespread and locally common throughout the British Isles.

Montgomeryshire Status

Recorded on three occasions from the Welshpool area, 1967 being the last time.

Wingspan :   M & F, 10-11mm.

Habitat

Damp places, wherever the foodplant is found.

Foodplant

Hogweed and wild angelica.

Lifestage data

Spinning. Eggs laid on the foodplant. Larva feeds in spun seeds. Pupates in a frail cocoon on the ground.
