UK Status Resident. Widespread and common throughout England, Wales and central Scotland. Montgomeryshire Status Recorded from scattered sites in the county. Wingspan : M & F, 10-12mm. Confusion species It is often impossible to separate the adults of some species. In some cases differences can be seen in various life stages. |
Flight time & Voltinity
(Univoltine)  Habitat Oak woodland. Foodplant Oak and sweet chestnut. Lifestage data Case-bearing/leaf miner. Eggs laid on the leaf. Larva first constructs a case then starts to mine forming many small circular blotches over the leaf. Pupates within the case, attached to a leaf. |
