Resident. Fairly common in the southern half of the British Isles.

Montgomeryshire Status

This species was first recorded in 2014 at Llyn Coed y Dinas Nature Reserve in the east of the county.

Wingspan :   M & F 10.5-12mm.

Confusion species

Care should be taken as other species of Coleophora can look very similar.

Wherever the foodplant is found.

Foodplant

Rosaceous trees and shrubs.

Lifestage data

Leaf miner. Eggs on underside of leaf. Larva forms blotch mines, living in portable cases. Pupates in case attached to leaf.
