UK Status

Resident. Locally common in the southern half of England and Wales.

Montgomeryshire Status

First recorded in 2010 at Cors Dyfi nature reserve in the west of the county. This was only the fourth record for north Wales.

Wingspan :   M & F, 12.5-17mm.

C. albidella
Flight time & Voltinity (Univoltine)

Habitat

Wherever foodplant is found, but especially near the sea.

Foodplant

Rosaceous trees.

Lifestage data

Leaf miner/case-bearing. Eggs laid on underside of leaf. Larva forms case and feeds by making a series of minute mines which can pepper a leaf. Pupates attached to upper surface of leaf.
