This species was first recorded in 2015 at Middletown in the east of the county.

Wingspan :   M & F 11-14mm.

Confusion species

Care should be taken as other species of Coleophora can look very similar.
Flight time & Voltinity (Univoltine)

Habitat

Damp places, wherever the foodplant is found.

Foodplant

Jointed rush.

Lifestage data

Case-bearing. Eggs laid on flower. Larva first feeds internally on the seeds & later forms a case. Pupates in the case.
