Resident. Fairly common and widespread in England as far north as Lancashire and some southern counties of Wales.
Montgomeryshire Status
Found in two widely separated sites in the county at Commins Coch and Montgomery.

Lifestage data
Eggs, oviposition site undescribed. Larva starts life feeding in an
umbel, then feeds internally in stems, even below the water level.
Pupates in a loose silken cocoon in a lower stem. |
