Resident. Widespread and often common throughout much of the British isles.

Montgomeryshire Status

First recorded in 2010 near Cors Dyfi nature reserve in the west of the county. This was only the sixth record for north Wales.

Wingspan :   M & F, 18-22mm.

Confusion species

A. putridella.
Flight time & Voltinity (Univoltine)

Habitat

Grassland, Downland and other open areas.

Foodplant

Various herbaceous plants.

Lifestage data

Eggs laid on leaf of foodplant. Larva feeds in leaflets rolled into tubes or amongst flowers. Pupates in leaf litter or just under the soil.
