Resident. Widespread and fairly common throughout the British
Isles as far north as Banffshire, wherever chalk and limestone is found.
Montgomeryshire Status
Just two records from the Llanymynech Rocks area are known.

Spinning. Eggs laid on foodplant, probably overwinters at this stage.
Larva lives in a tight ball-like spinning in the terminal shoot.
