UK Status Resident. Widespread and common throughout Britain. Montgomeryshire Status First recorded in 2011 at Llanfyllin in the north of the county. Wingspan : M & F, 14-16mm. Confusion species Care must be taken in the identification, there are a number of very similar species. |

(Bivoltine +)  Habitat Grassland and heathland. Foodplant Sheep's sorrel. Lifestage data Spinning. Eggs laid on foodplant. Larva feeds from a silken gallery spun in the upper parts of the roots, stem and occasionally the seedheads. Pupa undescribed. |
