Resident. Widespread and can be very common, throughout the British Isles as far north as Aberdeenshire.

Montgomeryshire Status

Has been infrequently recorded throughout the county. The 2010 record from Middletown was the first since 1988. This was followed by one from Lake Vyrnwy, caught during an MMG event.

Wingspan :   M & F, 17-24mm.

Oak.

Lifestage data

Spinning. Eggs laid on bark. Larva lives in spun leaves and shoots and feeds within. Pupates in a folded leaf edge of the foodplant.
