Resident. Widely distributed and often common throughout Britain, more local in the north.

Montgomeryshire Status

This species was first recorded in 2014 at Guilsfield in the east of the county.

Wingspan :   M & F 18-22mm.

Flight time & Voltinity (Univoltine)

Habitat

Open woodland, scrub, orchards and gardens.

Foodplant

Hawthorn, blackthorn, apple, pear, plum roses and bramble.

Lifestage data

Spinning. Eggs laid on foodplant. Larva lives and feeds between two spun leaves. Pupates in larval habitation.
