Resident. Widespread and generally common throughout the British Isles as far north as Ross and Cromarty.

Wingspan :   M & F, 15-18mm.

H. nubiferana.
Flight time & Voltinity (Univoltine)

Habitat

Hedgerows, gardens and orchards.

Foodplant

Blackthorn and plum spp.

Lifestage data

Spinning. Eggs laid on foodplant. Larva first lives in young shoots, later in a folded leaf or between two leaves bonded with silk. Pupates in a loosely spun cocoon in larval habitation or a spun leaf.
