Recorded once in 2008 from Commins Coch in the west of the county.

Wherever foodplant is found.

Foodplant

Scots Pine.

Lifestage data

Shoot miner. Eggs laid on the foodplant. Larva first feeds in a bud then lives in lateral shoots hollowing them out. Pupates in larval habitation usually near the tip of a shoot.
