UK Status

Resident. A local species found in scattered sites throughout Britain, very local in Wales.

Montgomeryshire Status

First found in the east of the county in 2014 at Dolforwyn Woods Nature Reserve. Only the 3rd record for north Wales.

Wingspan :   M & F 9-13mm.

Confusion species

Pammene argyrana, P. suspectana, P. agnotana, P. ignorata and P. obscurana.
Flight time & Voltinity (Univoltine)

Habitat

Oak woodland.

Foodplant

Oak.

Lifestage data

Gall feeder. Eggs laid on foodplant. Larva feeds within mine alongside the Hymenoptera larva. Pupates in larval habitation.
