UK Status Resident. Locally common in the southern half of England and rather more uncommon in Wales. Montgomeryshire Status Recorded once from a single site in the east of the county at Welshpool in 2000. Wingspan : M & F, 9-11mm. Confusion species None. |

(Univoltine)  Habitat Wooded areas and hedgerows. Foodplant Hawthorn. Lifestage data Spinning/fruit feeder. Eggs laid singly on berries. Larva lightly spins two or three berries together and feeds inside the fruit. Pupates in a silken cocoon under bark or amongst leaf litter. |
