Resident. Locally abundant throughout the British Isles.
Montgomeryshire Status
This species has only been recorded from three sites in the county. It
is likely to be very much more common than this, very under-recorded or
overlooked.

Habitat
Ponds, bogs, lakes, slow rivers.
Foodplant
Canadian waterweed, stoneworts and filamentous algae.
Lifestage data
Aquatic. Eggs laid on foodplant. Larva feeds to two metres depth in
loose spinning amongst foodplant. Pupates in silken subaquatic cocoon
up to a metre below surface. |
