Resident & Migrant. Local and rare in the southern half of England and the southern half of Wales.

Montgomeryshire Status

Recorded from a single site at Commins Coch in the west of the county. This species turns up in very small numbers every year at the same site, it can only be deduced that there is a small breeding population there. The foodplant is present. An excellent record for the county.

Wingspan :   M & F, 23-25mm.

Damp woodland rides and edges.

Woundwort.

Lifestage data

Spinning. Eggs laid on foodplant. Larva rolls down the margins of a leaf binding them with silk. Pupates in a cocoon in a hollow dry stem.
