UK Status Resident. Widespread but local in the southern half of Britain. Montgomeryshire Status Recorded from just two sites in the county at Commins Coch and Llanfyllin. Wingspan : M & F, 22-27mm. Confusion species None. |

(Univoltine)  Habitat On light soils. Foodplant Spear thistle. Lifestage data Eggs laid on foodplant. Larva feed in the seed-heads hollowing out a large cavity. Pupates in a dull brown cocoon on the ground. |
