Resident. Widespread and fairly common in the southern half of Britain.

Montgomeryshire Status

Recorded once in the east of the county at Llanymynech Hill in 1929.

Wingspan :   M & F, 26-29mm.

Habitat

Wet meadows and open woodland.

Foodplant

Common fleabane and ploughman's spikenard.

Lifestage data

Eggs laid on foodplant. Larva feed initially the shoots, later on leaves which become riddled with holes. Pupates in the lower parts of host plant.
